Enter your clock-in and clock-out times for each day. The calculator automatically totals your weekly hours, separates regular from overtime (over 40 hours), and calculates gross pay if you enter your hourly rate. Break times are subtracted from total hours. Example: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with 30-min break = 7.5 hours worked.
Enter your clock-in and clock-out times for each day you worked. Subtract any unpaid break time. The calculator totals all your hours automatically. For example, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break = 7.5 hours worked.
In most US states, overtime kicks in after 40 hours per week at 1.5x your regular rate. Some states (like California) also require daily overtime after 8 hours. Enter your overtime threshold and multiplier to see the breakdown.
Employers often round time to the nearest quarter-hour (15 min) or tenth-hour (6 min). For example, with 15-minute rounding: 8:07 rounds down to 8:00, while 8:08 rounds up to 8:15. This must be neutral (not always in employer favor).
Unpaid meal breaks (typically 30 minutes) should be subtracted. Short rest breaks (5-20 minutes) are usually paid time and should NOT be subtracted. Enter only unpaid break time in the break minutes field.
For shifts crossing midnight (e.g., 10 PM to 6 AM), the calculator automatically handles the day transition. Enter the times as shown and hours will calculate correctly across the midnight boundary.
Gross pay is your total earnings before deductions. Net pay is what you take home after taxes, insurance, and other deductions. This calculator shows gross pay only. Actual take-home pay will be 20-30% less depending on your tax bracket.
