Quick Answer
GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated by: (Sum of grade points × credit hours) / Total credit hours. Standard scale: A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0. Example: A (4.0) in a 3-credit course + B (3.0) in a 4-credit course = (4×3 + 3×4) / 7 = 24/7 = 3.43 GPA. Calculate at practicalwebtools.com.
Key Facts about GPA Calculator:

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our gpa calculator
How is GPA calculated?
Sum of (grade points × credits) / total credits.
Multiply each grade point (A=4, B=3, etc.) by credit hours, sum all, divide by total credit hours. (4×3 + 3×4 + 2×3) / (3+4+3) = 30/10 = 3.0 GPA.
What is a good GPA?
3.0+ good, 3.5+ excellent, 3.7+ outstanding.
3.0+ is typically good. 3.5+ is excellent (Dean's List). 3.7+ is outstanding. Depends on your goals - graduate school may require 3.0-3.5+.
What is weighted GPA?
Extra points for honors/AP - A might count as 4.5 or 5.0.
Weighted GPA adds points for harder courses. Honors/AP courses may count as 4.5 or 5.0 for an A instead of 4.0, raising GPA above 4.0.
How do +/- grades affect GPA?
+/- adds or subtracts 0.3 (B+ = 3.3, B- = 2.7).
A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, etc. Plus grades add 0.3, minus grades subtract 0.3 from base (except A+ is usually still 4.0).
