Track and analyze trainer, jockey, and trainer-jockey combination statistics. Calculate win rates, ITM percentages, and betting ROI.
Use $2 flat bet for fair comparison
Tracking trainer and jockey statistics helps identify profitable betting angles. Win percentage tells you how often they win, but ROI tells you if betting on them is profitable. A 25% trainer who wins at low odds may be less profitable than a 15% trainer whose horses pay better prices.
Wins ÷ Starts. Shows how often they win. Industry average is ~9%. Elite trainers hit 20%+, top jockeys 15-20%.
(Wins + Places + Shows) ÷ Starts. Measures consistency. Useful for place/show betting strategies.
The real measure of profitability. Positive ROI means you'd profit betting every start. Most connections have negative ROI due to takeout.
Top trainers win 20-25% of their starts. Elite jockeys can win 15-22%. The industry average is around 8-10%. However, win rate alone doesn't determine profitability—you need to track ROI alongside win percentage.
ROI = (Total Returns - Total Wagered) ÷ Total Wagered × 100. A $2 flat bet strategy helps compare connections fairly. Positive ROI means the connection is profitable to follow blindly (rare).
ITM percentage is (Wins + Places + Shows) ÷ Total Starts. This measures consistency. A 50% ITM rate means the horse finishes in the top 3 half the time—useful for place/show betting.
Some trainer-jockey combinations outperform either individual. They may have better communication, the jockey may know the trainer's horses well, or their styles may complement each other.
