Practical Web Tools is written and maintained by one person. That is intentional: you should be able to see exactly who built the tool you are about to trust with your files, your numbers, or your time. The byline on every page links back here.

Founder & Software Engineer
I'm a full-stack software engineer with concentrations in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering. My career has spanned embedded systems in C and C++, Python and JavaScript for web architecture, AI/ML (both cloud and local deployment), and robotics. I led the software development of a gesture-controlled drone controller from concept to MVP — the intellectual property was acquired by KD Interactive and is sold on Amazon as the Aura Drone. I built Practical Web Tools because I was tired of watching people hand sensitive files to random servers on the internet. Every tool on this site runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Your files never touch my servers because there are no servers handling your files. That's not marketing — that's the architecture.
Software tools across the entire site — converters, calculators, dev tools, AI tools, and utilities. For finance, health, and gambling topics, Joseph writes the engineering and methodology; formulas are cited to primary sources (IRS, CDC, NIH, Fed Reserve, Wizard of Odds, etc.). These tools are educational, not professional advice.
