Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add page numbers to a PDF?
Upload the PDF, pick the position and format, and run. The tool draws real text onto each page with pdf-lib in your browser, so the numbers survive printing, emailing, and any PDF reader — they are not an overlay that disappears.
Can I start numbering from a different number?
Yes — set "Start at". Common uses: skip a cover page and start at 1 on the second physical page, or continue numbering from a previous document by starting at a higher number. You can also tick "Skip first page" to leave a title page unnumbered.
Does "Page 1 of 10" count skipped pages?
The total reflects the pages that are actually numbered. If you skip the cover of a 10-page PDF, numbers run Page 1 of 9 on the remaining pages, which is what most style guides expect.
What font and color are used?
A clean 11pt Helvetica in dark grey — neutral on both white and cream backgrounds. If you need a specific corporate font or color, that is a job for the source document, since browsers cannot embed arbitrary fonts without ballooning the file.
