Quick Answer
Block Drop is the classic falling-blocks stacker: shapes descend one at a time and you move and rotate them to build solid horizontal lines — complete lines clear instantly and everything above drops down. As you clear lines the fall speed ramps up, and the game ends when the stack touches the top. Ours is an original implementation with ghost-drop preview, a three-piece queue, and fair 7-bag piece randomization. Free, no sign-up, entirely in your browser.
How It Works
Move and rotate falling shapes into position
Complete solid horizontal lines to clear them
Use the ghost preview and next-piece queue to plan
Survive as gravity speeds up every 10 lines
Key Facts

- Three-piece next queue with fair 7-bag randomization
- Level rises every 10 lines cleared — gravity accelerates
- Keyboard (arrows + space) and touch controls
- 100% client-side: no downloads, no sign-up, works offline
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you play Block Drop?
Shapes fall from the top; move them left/right and rotate to fit, then drop. When a horizontal row is completely filled it clears and you earn points — clearing four rows at once (a "quad") is worth the most. The game ends when new pieces can no longer enter the well.
What are the controls?
Arrow keys move and rotate (up rotates), down soft-drops one row, and space hard-drops instantly. P pauses. On touch, tap the left/right thirds of the board to move, the center to rotate, and use the button row for drops.
What is the ghost piece?
The translucent outline at the bottom shows exactly where the current piece will land if you drop it now — it removes all guessing from placement and makes precise stacking much faster once you read it at a glance.
How does scoring work?
Single line: 100 × level, double: 300 ×, triple: 500 ×, quad: 800 ×. Because clears multiply by level, a quad late in the game is worth vastly more than early singles — the skill curve rewards setting up multi-line clears.
What is 7-bag randomization?
The seven shapes are shuffled into a "bag" and dealt in that order — every bag contains each shape exactly once. You will never wait absurdly long for a needed piece, and the queue preview lets you plan at least three moves ahead.
