Quick Answer
A bracket maker builds a single-elimination tournament tree from your list of teams or players. Paste the names, choose a random draw or seeded order, and the generator pairs everyone into the first round, inserting byes automatically when the count is not a power of two. Click the winner of each match and they advance through the tree until a champion is crowned. The draw uses your browser’s cryptographic random source, everything runs on your device, and the bracket auto-saves so you can run it courtside on any phone.
How It Works
Paste your participants, one per line (2–128 names)
Pick a crypto-fair random draw, or uncheck it and list strongest-first to seed
Press "Generate bracket" — byes are inserted automatically if needed
Click the checkmark next to each match winner; the champion banner appears at the end

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a single elimination bracket work?
Every match pairs two participants and only the winner advances — lose once and you are out. The field shrinks by half each round (16 players, then 8, then 4, then 2) until the final decides the champion. This format is fast and dramatic, which is why playoffs, March Madness pools, and club tournaments default to it.
What happens when the number of teams is not a power of two?
The bracket pads to the next power of two with byes — empty slots that let some participants skip the first round. This generator assigns byes to the top of your list (or randomly if you shuffle), so if you have 6 teams in an 8-slot bracket, two teams get a first-round bye and the other four play. No two byes can meet in round one.
Is the random draw actually fair?
Yes. The shuffle is a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by crypto.getRandomValues — the browser’s cryptographic random source — so every possible pairing arrangement is equally likely. There is no weighting or house bias; the code is visible in the page and runs entirely on your machine.
Can I use this for March Madness or a sports league?
Absolutely — paste your 64 (or 68) teams, or use it for office pools, rec-league playoffs, chess clubs, bowling leagues, FIFA-style console tournaments, and pickup-game ladders. For seeding, uncheck the random draw and enter your strongest teams first so they receive the byes and cannot meet until later rounds, which is how real tournaments protect their top seeds.
Can I correct a wrong result mid-tournament?
Yes. Every match card has a reset arrow — clearing a result automatically empties every downstream match it fed into, so you re-enter only from that point forward. The tree stays consistent; you can never end up with a stale winner in a later round.
Do you store my bracket or teams?
No server storage at all. The bracket and participant list live in your browser’s localStorage and the tournament logic runs locally. Nothing is uploaded, there are no accounts, and once the page is loaded it works without a connection — handy for gym basements with bad Wi-Fi.
