Quick Answer

Brick Breaker is the arcade classic: slide your paddle to bounce a ball into the brick wall above, clearing every brick to advance. Hitting the paddle off-center angles the ball — that control is the whole skill. Our free version has 8 escalating levels with armored two-hit bricks and a paddle that shrinks as you progress. Mouse or arrow keys, best score saved locally, entirely in your browser.

How It Works

1

Launch the ball with Space or a tap

2

Steer with mouse or arrow keys — edge hits angle the ball

3

Break every brick; armored ones need two hits

4

Survive all 8 levels as speed climbs and the paddle shrinks

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play brick breaker?

Move the paddle with your mouse (or the left/right arrow keys) to keep the ball in play. The ball bounces off walls, the paddle, and bricks; each brick it hits is damaged or destroyed. Clear every brick to advance to the next level, and don't let the ball fall past your paddle — you have three lives.

How does the ball angle work?

Where the ball lands on the paddle decides its direction: hit the center for a vertical bounce, or the edges to send it sharply left or right. This is the core skill — deliberate off-center hits let you steer the ball into hard-to-reach brick clusters.

What are the gray bricks?

Armored bricks (introduced at level 3) take two hits: the first cracks them, the second destroys them. They usually sit in the top rows, so plan an angle that can reach them twice.

Does the game get harder?

Yes — each level adds rows of bricks, increases ball speed slightly, and shrinks your paddle a little. Level 8 demands precise angle control with a small paddle at high speed.

Is my high score saved?
